Introduction to the People Looking for Jobs by Size of Business
By systematically introducing and managing foreign workers,
the Employment Permit System alleviates the lack of laborers in small to mid-sized businesses and
contributes to the balanced growth of the nation’s economy.
Introduction to the Job Seekers by Size of Business
Purchasing employment insurance has been made mandatory for workplaces are allowed/permitted to employ foreign workers through the Employment Permit System (EPS)
- The size of the workplace is determined by the number of local residents who are insured
(average of 3 months). - However, for businesses with higher manpower shortage rates than the average manpower rage
of the root industry or small and medium enterprises with less than 30 workers, the allowed limited for each
workplace is increased by 20% (the manpower shortage rate is notified with varying rates every year). - The enterprises connected with employing local workers may additionally employ foreign workers.
- Applicable enterprises
- New enterprises, small and medium enterprises, foreign investment company (model areas: Port Hinterland, foreigners investment area, free trade zone, Industrial Complex Specified for Lease, Free Economic Zone), and domestic U-turn companies
- In cases where a regional company (non-capital region) applies, 20% additional employment is permitted.
The types of business, which have maximum allowed workers increased by 20% by workplace
Every year, on the basis of Report on the Occupational Labor Force Survey at Establishments, the types of business, which could have maximum allowed workers increased by 20%, is adjusted.
